Introduction - 2 Panic-mode

I have truly dawdled on this book. I love the plot, I can see gorgeous characters hiding in there, and the world is rich and real to me.

But definitely not to my readers. I have 11,367 words right now. That means, if I don't write another word tonight (which, depending on how I feel, I might not) I need to write 3,515 words a day from now until the end of January just to hit 50k, and I know that this book could go quite a bit longer.

The sense of something being slightly unusual was heightened by Ina’s extreme beauty. Eboni, being pretty in her own sense, had never really noticed Ina’s looks, but her brothers certainly did. Ina’s sparkling green eyes, her shining amber hair, her flawless fair skin, and her ample curves all gave Metisse and Percival plenty of fodder for their starved male imaginations.

However, I am good at making plans. I work for seven hours tomorrow. This means that I spend one hour working out, and a few more hours working on this. I'll catch up. This book will be finished by the end of January. I can't fail on the first book, can I?

Introduction - 1

A beautiful, iridescent monster, Vaugod was the first of his kind to fall sick. A petty god, not of the sort who creates worlds but of the sort that rules them, Vaugod’s seven-foot wings, which once were able to fold neatly against his back now were weak and trailed uselessly behind him as he moved. They were rotting off his back.

And so begins Introduction, a novel about a dying man and a schoolgirl who fight to rescue a diseased god.

I tried so hard not to mention the book to my friends, but just a few days into it, I'm already complaining about how slowly it's starting. It's probably because I didn't really start working on it until the fourth, (I had a wonderful trip to visit my boyfriend that delayed the book), but there we have it.

At the time that I write this, there are 2,346 words.
